Summary: These terms govern all services provided by The Great Canadian Wrench. By authorizing any work - verbally, in writing, or by electronic communication - you agree to these terms. If you have questions, call us before work begins.

1. Scope of Services

The Great Canadian Wrench provides mobile heavy duty equipment repair, maintenance, welding, hydraulic service, and related mechanical services to clients throughout Southwestern Ontario. Services are performed by Red Seal certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians.

Services are performed at client-specified locations (job sites, yards, facilities). Some component rebuilds or specialized repairs may require shop work at a third-party facility at additional cost - the client will be advised and must authorize any such arrangement in advance.

2. Quotes and Estimates

All written quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote document (standard: 14 days from issue date). Quotes are based on information available at the time of inspection.

Estimates vs. Fixed Quotes: Where a job requires teardown prior to full diagnosis, an estimate may be provided. If actual costs exceed the estimate by more than 15%, the client will be contacted and must provide authorization before work continues. No additional charges will be applied without client approval.

Hidden Damage: If disassembly reveals damage or wear beyond what was visible at the time of quoting, a revised quote will be issued. The Great Canadian Wrench will not proceed with additional work without written or documented verbal authorization.

3. Authorization to Proceed

Work will not commence without authorization. Authorization may be provided by:

The person authorizing work confirms they are authorized to do so on behalf of the equipment owner and client organization.

4. Pricing, Invoicing and Payment

Rate Structure: Labour is charged at the current standard or after-hours rate per hour, as communicated at time of quote. A call-out fee applies per dispatch. Travel beyond 50 km from Ingersoll, Ontario is charged at the current per-kilometre rate. All rates are in Canadian dollars and

Daily Invoicing: On multi-day jobs, invoices are issued at the end of each working day. Each daily invoice covers hours worked, travel, and any parts supplied that day. This is standard industry practice and keeps charges clear and transparent for both parties.

Payment Due: Payment is due on receipt of invoice, or within 7 days unless otherwise agreed in writing. Fleet contract clients may have negotiated terms.

Late Payment: Invoices unpaid after 30 days are subject to interest at 2% per month (24% per annum). The Great Canadian Wrench reserves the right to suspend service on accounts with outstanding balances.

Accepted Payment: Visa, Mastercard, and e-Transfer. Online payment is available at greatcanadianwrench.ca.

5. Parts and Materials

Parts are supplied at cost plus a handling and procurement markup. All parts used are documented on invoices with part numbers. OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts are used where available and specified. Aftermarket parts may be used at the technician's discretion unless the client specifies otherwise in advance.

Parts ordered specifically for a job that are not subsequently used due to client cancellation remain the client's property and are billed accordingly.

6. Warranty

Labour Warranty: All labour is warranted for 90 days from the date of service unless otherwise stated on the invoice. The warranty covers the specific repair performed and does not extend to related components or subsequent failures caused by pre-existing conditions.

Parts Warranty: Parts are warranted under the OEM or supplier warranty. The Great Canadian Wrench will facilitate warranty claims on parts we supply.

Warranty Exclusions: Warranty is void if the equipment has been subjected to misuse, improper operation, unauthorized modification, or failure to follow recommended maintenance intervals after service.

Warranty Service: Warranty claims must be reported within the warranty period. The Great Canadian Wrench will return to inspect and, if the failure is confirmed to be related to the original repair, will remedy it at no charge for labour.

7. Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

8. Limitation of Liability

The Great Canadian Wrench carries commercial general liability insurance.

The Great Canadian Wrench' liability for any claim arising from services performed is limited to the amount paid for those services. We are not liable for consequential damages including but not limited to lost production, lost revenue, equipment rental, or secondary failures caused by pre-existing conditions discovered during or after service.

Equipment left unattended after service is the responsibility of the client. The Great Canadian Wrench is not responsible for theft, weather damage, or operator error following completion of service.

9. Site Access and Safety

The technician reserves the right to refuse to work in conditions that are unsafe, inaccessible, or in violation of applicable safety regulations. In such cases, the call-out fee and any travel charges still apply.

The client is responsible for ensuring the worksite meets applicable Ontario occupational health and safety requirements. The technician will comply with all reasonable site safety rules communicated in advance.

10. Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Cancellation: Cancellations with less than 4 hours notice on a scheduled call may be subject to a partial call-out fee to cover mobilization costs.

No Access / No-Show: If the technician arrives at the agreed location and cannot access the equipment or site, the full call-out fee and travel charges apply.

Emergency Calls: Once an emergency dispatch is initiated, cancellation fees apply as above. Emergency rates apply for the minimum 2-hour billing period regardless of actual time on site if dispatch has occurred.

11. Ownership of Equipment

The client warrants that they are the owner of the equipment, or are authorized to approve repairs on behalf of the owner. The Great Canadian Wrench accepts no liability arising from disputes over equipment ownership.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Oxford County, Ontario.

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time of service governs that transaction.
